Myanmar Rattan
Rattan is any of various climbing palms of the genera Calamus,
Daemonorops, or Plectomia of tropical Asia, having long, tough,
slender
stems. Theses stems of palms, used to make wickerwork, canes, and
furniture. Many types of Rattan furniture are available in Myanmar and
there are many exporters. Rattans are also superficially similar to
bamboo. Unlike bamboo, rattan stems ("malacca") are solid, and most
species need structural support and cannot stand on their own. Rattans
have been known to grow up to hundreds of metres long. Most (70%) of the
world's rattan population exist in Indonesia, distributed among Borneo,
Sulawesi, Sumbawa islands. The rest of the world's supply comes from
the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Myanmar.
Myanmar Water Hyacinth Water Hyacinth is a tropical American herb (Eichhornia crassipes)
forming dense floating masses in ponds and streams and having large
bluish-purple flowers and leafstalks with greatly inflated bases. Water hyacinth is a weed which grows on top of the water in lakes across
Asia. The water hyacinth is treated and woven to the frame of the
furniture to create a beautiful collection of furniture. With abundance
of raw material and skilful labour, Myanmar has introduced a new range
of water hyacinth furniture to the world.

Myanmar's Gems & Jewelry
Myanmar is well-known for the jewels that she has. Mogok is known as the
Land of Jewels in Myanmar. Mogok is just a famous town as the ruby-land
of Myanmar either in Myanmar or the international community. It is 128
miles from Mandalay. The ruby-land is in the centre of four mountains
namely 5,955 feet high Myomin taung in the east, 7,544 feet high Taungme
taung in the north-east, 5, 277 feet high Daw Nan Keeh taung and 5, 354
feet high Pingu taung in the west.

Either of two distinct minerals, nephrite and jadeite, that are
generally pale green or white and are used mainly as gemstones or in
carving. Mostly found in upper part of Myanmar, in Kachin State.
Myanmar Ruby

A deep red, translucent variety of the mineral corundum, highly
valued as a precious stone. It is mostly found in Mogok, Mandalay
Division.
Myanmar Sapphire A clear hard variety of corundum used as a gemstone that is usually
blue but may be any color except red.
Diamond An extremely hard, highly refractive crystalline form of carbon that
is usually colorless and is used as a gemstone and in abrasives, cutting
tools, and other applications. Found in some parts of Myanmar.
Myanmar Pearl
A smooth, lustrous, variously colored deposit, chiefly calcium
carbonate, formed around a grain of sand or other foreign matter in the
shells of certain mollusks and valued as a gem. Pearls can have
different colors such as Gold, Pink, White and Black. Found in the
Andaman sea of Myanmar and the nearby islands of Myeik, Thanintharyi
Division.
Myanmar Emerald
A brilliant green to grass-green transparent variety of beryl, used
as a gemstone.
PeridotA yellowish-green variety of olivine used as a gem. Found in upper
Myanmar.
Wood Products Myanmar Furniture Different kinds of furniture for indoor and outdoor, made of
different kinds of wood such as teak are export products from Myanmar.
Myanmar Handicrafts Many kinds of sculptural designs are available which are made of
Ivory, Sandalwood, Teak , and Padauk.
